Hi all,

not sure what the problem is here (i could also be in the wrong forum) but basically when i try watch videos on the intnernet like movie trailers from IMDB etc i cannot see the video properly, i can see a very vague outline and sometimes a faint image of the video, but obviously it is never as clear as it should be, some are better than others, but in general they are usually far from watchable, but yet the sound is fine.
What do you think the problem could be? i have downloaded some codecs i was recommended called ffdshow but this did not do the trick. Please help if you can as this is the only current problem with my new build! (it did happen to my old build when i did a recent format)

here is a picture showing an example of a video, but to be honest u cant really see anything!

yes and yes lol.

just build a brand new system last wed C2D system, with a new 7950 GT 512MB GFX card, all drivers are updated and things, also bought a new 19" TFT, but as i say it happened to my old system when i did a format about 2 weeks ago.

check yoru settings in wmp go to tools options performance and adjust the video accerlation tab to none. may not solve it but worth a try :) fixed my play back probs

cheers, that seemed to improve it a lot for WMP but not for any other media player!! like VLC etc.

dont download codec packs as you dont need half of them + when you are on certain sites!(you know the kind) and it says "you need this codec to watch file click here" do it at own risk, most are spyware and virisus i know a lot of people done this way.
i personally use opera browser and never get that problem with sites and i use jet audio for all media as it plays everything!
hope this helps m8

Try another browser.

Codec packs are a waste of time.

VLC + ffdshow, play anything you'll ever need. Its all i ever use and i don't have problems viewing any videos.

Post a link to any problems vids and i'll see if i can play them fine.
