Canon 100-400L IS II

So the wait is finally over; the new Canon 100-400 is officially released. What will the rumour people talk about now

It looks like it will be an amazing lens. I certainly wouldn't be happy if I'd paid over £8k for the Canon 200-400 !!

On launch the UK RRP is £2k but prices will drop into next year and I'll definitely be buying one for general outdoor sports use.

The front element extends but it's not push-pull like the old 100-400L. It's a new twist-ring zoom with variable torque.

Could you test the IS please : 560mm @ 1/30

(4 stops slower than focal length)

The only thing that will stop me buying this lens will be if Canon release an update to the 300mm L F4 IS in the next 18 months.
