The dynamic range improvement is interesting as I was going the Technicolor Cinestyle (custom preset upload) but this looks a whole lot better.

1000x cards will be CF of course I bet due to the limited write speed of the SD card section of the cam.

Wonder what else the Magic Lantern firmware will bring as well as this.

It seems that people like the Magic Lantern devs are getting a lot more out of the current kit thant Canon are. Canon are deliberately limiting their own equipment purely for market segmentation purposes. It's one of my pet peeves when manufacturers do this.

You'd think canon would see it as a good thing to not restrict the hardware in a camera because it puts that model above the competition even further!

A bump to this now as headway has been made for stills as well as video. We now have 7% more dynamic range thanks to the ML team figuring out how the ISO registers work with the sensor. Damming fingers point toward Canon though as to why they hold hardware back like this out of the box...

This is pretty important news for 5D3/6D shooters all over :)

It seems to be simple enough ut I'm going to wait for a beta as opposed to a nightly test first.

The only thing is that it trips a boot flag from what I can see which means Canon can see it's been modified although this isn't a huge deal since Canon don't actively go against it, they just don't support it should use have issues.

I knew someone who needed some help making a music video, so I thought it be the perfect opportunity to play with the ML RAW format. The shoot took no more than 5-6 hours, the rendering of the files in AE from ACR took over 40 hours lol!!..

Its nothing special, but it was fun... and I will be using RAW an awful lot this year. Anyway, thought I would share
