The paint has rubbed off (yes rubbed off) because of a zip on the inside of my back pack.
Can anyone recommend any companies that would be able to repaint/repair the damaged area?
I don't really want to spend a lot and don't what a complete respray if possible.
I've not contacted Canon directly yet, as I thought they might be expensive.

Hopefully the photo below shows up.

Thank you.

Better off just being honest come sale time. Even if you retouch it, it'll still be noticeable and people will ask what happened. Better to just tell the truth otherwise they might think you're trying to hide something, like it having been dropped for example.

I'd leave it. Ultimately these cameras are working class tools. Something with a mark in it (rather than a wopping dent) is hardly an issue. It'll hardly affect your resale and if it does, then they aren't the right customers. It wouldn't stop me.

I reckon it would cost you more to sort than any actual loss from selling it.

Wise words Gentlemen, thanks.
I'm likely to take it to a shop to sell it. I can't be bother with eBay.
But, that's in the future, when the new A7RII comes out ;)

Sell it on a forum like here or Talkphotography no ebay fee's and Nigerians and you will get more than from a second hand shop. I've picked up nearly all my camera equipment from forums and (touchwood) never had an issue.

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't even know OC had a selling section.
I'll check it out nearer the time of selling.

Or just keep it? The MKiii is an absolutely mind blowing camera :) - is there a need to upgrade? :)

Part of the reason for wanting to "upgrade" is the weight.
I want something that weighs less. I think all my stuff & bag weighs about 1 stone or 6.35kg.

I've just got a quote for the replacement of the damage part. £135 big ones
I can buy a lot of black marker pens for that :D

Then ask yourself, do you NEED to carry it all around, all the time? Decide the lenses for the job at hand and take just that.

All my gear together weighs around that, if not more. I only carry whats required :)
