See how it goes when people start using it, I can't say I'll be in a rush to get hold of one...

I guess the wireless and GPS feature may be of interest to some:

Built-in Wireless and GPS
For the ultimate in DSLR connectivity and control, the EOS 6D features a built-in wireless transmitter which allows the camera to share images and video with the user's choice of wireless devices such as select PowerShot cameras, smartphones, or tablets, as well as cloud-based destinations including social networking sites through the Canon iMAGE GATEWAYii iii. A very intuitive and useful wireless feature is the new, free Canon EOS Remote app available for iOS and Android systems which will allow a smartphone or wireless device such as a tablet to remotely connect, control and operate the connected EOS 6Div. This seamless connection and control will open new opportunities for professional photographers shooting weddings or remote wildlife, without the need for tethered operation or accessories.

For on-location shooters, landscape photographers or enthusiast photo travelers, the EOS 6D features a built-in GPS receiver to record longitude, latitude, elevation and Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) as EXIF data for seamless geo-tagging while shooting. The GPS coordinates are appended to each image and easily syncs with Canon software or mapping apps on social network sites to show image locations. Use of UTC data allows images to be chronologically mapped and trails plotted and recorded.v

I want to see what this new 11 point AF system performs like over everything else...

Nice Iso Range, Shame i'm invested into Nikon, Just got myself a D700, So i'll be kinda ****ed if Cannon bring this out for £1500.. :P Pretty sure you can buy convertors to change Nikon lens to Cannon.

It'll probably be around £2k at launch, hopefully the price will drop though!

edited as price is still rumour!

This could be my upgrade, coming from my 40D would mean my Tokina 11-16 and Sigma 17-70 would need to go as well. Should get a decent amount for them three items, to get a walkabout lens and the 6D for starters.

Hopefully lower. The placement of the AF points will be paramount to its success as it should be able to focus in darker conditions than the 5D mk ii which was my one and only annoyance with the AF on it

"printed wirelessly using a Canon Wi-Fi enabled printer" I'm sold!

I think it looks like an interesting camera. Like you say it depends on the AF, but if it's been designed for a full frame sensor and provides more coverage than an APS-C AF system then that's a big plus point in my view. They also says that it will focus in lower than levels than any of it's other camera, which is a big claim and will be interesting to see if it's true.

I think a lot of people will bash this camera for not being a full frame 7D but I think that's unfair. If the price settles down to sub £1600 (UK price) after launch then it'll be significantly cheaper than the 5D and import prices should be attractive.

Have to say the 11-point AF system is disappointing. Still better than the 5D2 but was hoping for the 19-point system from the 7D.

I'm keeping my 7D regardless but, at some point, will change my 40D for a FF body. Whether that's a 5D2, 6D or 5D3 depends on what happens with pricing. I fear the 6D will start out too close to the 5D3 to be a viable option. By the time it drops to a sensible level we'll see, although if it pushes used values of the 5D2 down to circa £800 then I may just go that way.

From Dpreview:

Disappointingly the layout doesn't offer any expanded coverage compared to the 9-point system on the EOS 5D Mark II - the additional points are squeezed-in to a similar diamond layout.

Just the centre is cross type. Disappointing about the layout. Pretty much a deal breaker.

I've not done tether shooting and thats the only real key point for me. I'm still looking to get WIFI SD card to with with my 5D but there are currently issues when using it and its not perfect.

I got a bit jealous when the 6D had built in wifi but wonder how long the battery actually last when switched on. Also the fact it using SD card and they are a lot cheaper than CF.

Guess I'm still sticking to my MKII for a while and expand my lens range. Come on 85mm F1.2!!!!!

Ok DigitalRev have the D600 at 1599. This is a good indication of what the 6D will cost upon release too.

That would make the 6D about £450 cheaper compared to the 5D mark III when comparing like for like (body only, from Drev).

No pop up flash.... ok, maybe to be expected. But with the new Canon wireless system of speedlite control that came with the 600EX-RT, I thought an integrated trigger would have been included here. I think Im just a bit bitter this morning, because I really dont want to buy Nikon, or spend as much as 5D mark III and this is going to make me do one of those....

As an entry level FF I'm a bit disappointed that the body can't take white-fit lenses. People that are looking to move up to FF will probably have a reasonable collection of those and they would all have to be sold for red-fit L lenses. The body itself would be a big outlay to someone wanting to step up but to expect to buy lenses as well is a bit of a cheek.

I was really up for getting this but now I've seen the specs and comments I'm disappointed. Might have to save up for a higher priced one or sell the lot and go to Nikon.
