This isn't the first time we've been teased with glimpses of the 7D, but now we at least have details on the lenses which are a EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens and a longer EF-S 18-135m f/3.5-5.6 IS [canonrumors via Engadget]

^ 18mp sensor, Dual Digic 4, 1080p video, 8fps (Canon 40D is 7.8fps in actual testing so I imagine the 7D will be more than this respectively too), 19point cross type AF (40D is 9 point crosstype all over), built in antishake?, iso6400, 100% viewfinder?,

Looks VERY interesting, that spec is very nice, just hope the price is equally nice because I'm still not yet ready to ditch my 17-55 2.8 IS yet, too damn sharp and fast at 2.8 :p

It certainly will be indeed especially considering how close you can get with the 18-55 it will be excellent for closeup work at 85mm no doubt - the kit lens is very sharp too which is a bonus.

It's got dual digic 4 so will cope perfectly fine really.

As for the 40D being 7.8FPS, I keep mentioning this yet people are still surprised as if it was never mentioned and shown before!

Was reading Giz earlier too, seems pretty good, was hoping the ISO performance at 3200 would have been better but I suppose it's expected for a non FF sensor.

Everything else makes me accidentally myself though!

The 8GB card is UDMA so will take complete advantage of that 100+ buffer :)

Still...a bit steep!

The Nikkor 16-85 is under £500?

Makes my fancy of a D300 even more DO WANT!

The samples are off a a pre-beta 7D body though as Canon have made a statement about this to take into consideration. Haven't there been samples in the past of prerelease bodies having better images after release models came out?

Just a quick question, can someone confirm what the lowest Canon model is to do this function:

On my mate's D300 he can do multiple HDR exposures across the whole stop range so for example he can create a 7 shot bracketed exposure in one burst which is extremely handy for richer HDR photos when hand holding especially with that buffer.

My 40D allows only a 3 stop burst for this purpose and the D300 is the first one I've actually seen that allows multiple exposure brackets like this.
