Hi All,

I am a relative newcomer to DSLR world. Finding my feet but my setup is nearly complete. What i want to know is if i can use a 2x extender with my canon 75-300 telephoto lens. I'm hesitant because it says i need a L type lens, I'm not sure i have this? If someone could help, would be appreciated. My camera is a 600d
Kind Regards
Richard

The real question is would you want to? The 75-300mm is a particularly poor lens adding a 2 x extender will only emphasise this further. If it was me I would save my money for a better telephoto either the canon 70-300mm IS USM or the Tamron 70-300 VI USD both of which will offer far superior image quality to you existing lens and with a crop will give better quality images than your 75-300 and any TC combo you manage to make work with it.

Thanks for all the info. I realised that i didnt put the correct lens in the thread title, Anyway it is the 70-300mm IS USM model i actually have. I have recently got into bird watching(the feathered variety) and i do feel i need a lil extra reach on this lens, So could i use a extender on this model, Thanks again for all the feedback.
