I recently got a Canon iP7250 and I'm having a small issue with it. It's connected via wifi and generally works fine. Problem is after it's been powered on and idling for a certain amount of time (I don't know exactly how long), it stops responding. You go to print and it will fail, tell the software to retrieve printer status and it will fail.

Power cycle the printer and it's fine again. Sleep mode/power saving is off.

Unsure if it does it over usb, as it's not somewhere that I can use a usb cable and I can't move it either. No where to put it for the length of time needed to see if it does it.

Latest drivers are installed on pc.

Any ideas?

Tried setting up a static IP for it on your router? Could be DHCP changing the address.

Would the static ip not be set printer side, rather than router? At least that's how it is on other stuff I have set as static. I will see if I can set the printer to one. I don't think the router will let me do it from this end, the thing doesn't even show attached wireless devices (for anything, not just printer), I think it's a bug (netgear dg834gt).

Why would it just change the address though, I thought DHCP was suppose to assign an available ip when it connects. If the printers not switched off, surely it's suppose to keep whatever it was assigned when powered up.

It can't hurt though, so I will try a static one (if I can).
