I'm going travelling with my Ixus 220 camera in February and would like to take a spare battery or two as I plan on using the video camera function quite a bit.

I've found spare batteries for the camera for £2.45 (trusted seller). The mAh/Wh is slightly higher so the battery life should technically be a bit better? My only worry is the price...

Has anyone tried one of these cheap batteries?

I really don't want to get a genuine Canon replacement as they seem to be £30-40. I don't mind spending £10-15 if it's going to be good. Any recommendations?

Thanks.

I always try and buy higher Mah versions for my camera/video camera/phone/gps etc and I haven't been disappointed yet. The "worst" thing so far is that they lasted the same time (so weren't higher Mah) but as I'd paid less than an original would cost I was still happy.

Just did a quick scan and these for £5 each would be good (1400Mah so 2x the power of standard ones). At worst it's cost you £5 for a same power replacement/backup battery. I did see originals for £15 too if you don't want the risk of 3rd party batteries.

Thanks for the link :)

Found 2 of those same ones for £5 on there and have ordered them. Not a great loss if they're rubbish. Should be alright as they're 1400mah though
