Canon MP610 problem, please help.

Hi,

Just got the Canon MP610 and the big black cartridge doesnt print. All the cartridges are installed correctly and all light up and show ink levels. I installed the drivers and did the test page print. All that was printed was the coloured windows logo. No text will print but you can hear the printer printing the text. Nozzle check pattern for the main black wasnt printed at all either. I'm stumped, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, doubled checked everything. Even checked the ink can come out. Its the printer and not drivers as I did the nozzle check on the printer itsself and all was ok apart from the main black which was blank.
 
I cant remember but I know you dont connect to PC 1st time, it takes a long period of time to go through some kinda set up, then you connect.

No clue why you cant get the bigger BLK Cart to fit, suppose could be a faulty one you got.

They are great though.
 
Ok this has got me stumped :(

It must be a hardware problem as it does not print from the big black cartridge even without the pc.
It prints any jpeg just fine it just will not print any sort of text document
