Canon Pixma IP5000 Problems

Last week my Canon IP5000, started acting strange,

when printing an envolope it started printing ultra slow (normally it would take it something like 10 seconds) but it took ages.

it done one pass at about every 20 seconds, then it done it again a few days ago but this time stopped after a bit then give error code 5200 in the software saying to swith off then back on again.

Done this but the power light started flashing orange & green, switched off, and unplgged it and left it for a bit then tried again, and now it wont power on at all.

Has anyone had a similar problem or know what the cause could be.

I have found a solution for your problem. (1) With the printer turned on, unplug it (2)Open the top and bring the ink cartridge holder to the middle (3)Raise the gray bar and remove the print head assembly with the cartridges in it (4) Lower the gray bar with the head missing and close the top with the head out (5) Restore the power,wait till the printer wakes up (6) It will tell you to put in the cartridges (7) Restore the print head, close the top and the printer should resume working..... for more information and help go here.
