Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark II previews

Awesome - this is just what I've been waiting for since I mysteriously scratched the lens of my G1 X when the lens cap fell off.

The autofocus seems to have improved in terms of speed and low-light and the focus distance is much closer, which is just what I wanted.

BUT...where has the optical viewfinder and vari-angle screen gone?! :(

I thought it was going to be my perfect camera but now I might have to look elsewhere. What fixed lens alternatives are there for a camera of this size and image quality, with a vari-angle screen?
