As I do not think I am ever likely to get to grips with my current 110D with it's choice of lenses on anything other than auto. I wonder if I should sell up and go for something like the Canon Powershot G16 or similar.

And what would be an alternative to the G16?

What say you?

Do you not want to 'get to grips' with it? Any camera requires some skill/knowledge to get the best out of it so you might find yourself in the same position with another camera?

What do you have trouble with when using your current 1100d?

Thanks for replying.
Apart from getting on a bit I suffer from Fibromyalgia which includes in it's symptoms trouble remembering and learning new things and problems with attention and concentration, which has made it extremely difficult to move away from auto on my 1100D.

Hence the question on whether a move to a simpler but decent camera might be wiser?

Hmm well I'm not sure it would be any better then. Instead of some settings to learn, you'd need to learn a new camera with some new settings too? I'm not sure I'd change system just because you're not using all the functions.

I guess you need to ask yourself "Does it do what I want?". If the answer is no then you need to find a camera that does (if that exists).

Failing that, I'm sure there's plenty of people out there not using all the functions and settings on their camera so I wouldn't let that worry you. It's your camera, use it how you like! :)
