I presume this will work on a Canon 30D?

Is it the dogs danglies in terms of flashguns?

Are Canon bringing out a new flashgun anytime soon?

That is all :)

Yes to breakdown a lot or yes to being rugged?

They seem to be around the £260 mark, even though in my local LCE it was up for £400!

£260 will be for an imported one from the USA which will have an international warranty (ive been told)

Im in the same position to buy one to upgrade from my sigma flash and looking at the options

Do the imported units miss anything the UK ones have?

I guess these will eat batteries like no tomorrow so I take it high NimH rechargeables are the way forward?

dont think they break that often and i think i will take the risk to buy one at a cheaper price

yes, they eat the normal batteries for breakfast.. big difference though when i bought recharchables

Cool I've got tonnes of those from my RC car days.

Does the flash recharge quickly from pic to pic? E.g. can I rack a few quick fire shots off or not with the flash attached? I don't want to stand there waiting a minute for the flash to recharge.

the recharge times is quite quick, you can get the Canon battery pack (forgot the model number) that makes it even quicker but that alone is £100.
