Canon have a Spring cashback offer for selected Cameras / Lenses / Flashguns / Printers and Camcorders at the moment, some of the discounts are pretty decent.

Info at

http://www.canon.co.uk/springcashback/

As always grey imports will not count.

BTW can you guess who purchased something with a 5 a D and a III in the name 2 days before finding out about this offer! - doh :)

What sort of price can you get the 5D3 for on UK stock? I'm still umming and ahhing over my D800 decision. Files are absolutely incredible but I'm still turning the lens the wrong (right) way to mount it and I miss my massive control wheel... I'd need to get together some more money but I am seriously considering hopping back.

I know the files will be worse, but I don't remember having to take this long to get used to shooting the 5D1 moving from a D5000... Maybe I was just never as used to the D5k as I got to be with the 5D, but if a 5D3 is a real option for me heck I might just consider it...

Also, please tell me the best price on the 5D3 UK stock is around the £2.5k mark... I really can't afford to keep doing this! :O

If you bought online return it under the distance selling regs and buy it again to get the cashback, not strictly what your rights are for but if Canon won't give sensible warning of these things you might as well!

I missed out on a Panasonic bluray cashback offer once by a couple of days, lets just say photoshop got me a couple of blurays for free....

Purchased from a proper Camera shop with a bit of part ex thrown in so that really is out of the question. Already registered the camera with Canon as well prior to finding out about the cashback offer. One of those things really.

Maybe next month.... the 600 EX-RT looks rather tempting :)

They're down to around £2300 now for UK stock.

edit: That's not including the cashback, so £2140 after cashback...

Just to point out, the £ : HK $ exchange rate has gone kaput in the detriment to the £. When I went to Hong Kong last year it was £1 to $12.50/$13.00.

Yesterday I checked it was £1 to $10.80. That is a 20% drop in value, it explains some price spike on some HK e-tailer.
