Very new to photography and only recently move from a simple point and click to a EOS 350D.
I am looking to buy, at a reasonable cost, a zoom lens for my EOS 350D and found this and on doing a bit of research the 55-250mm seems the ideal size.

Reason to buy, firstly I have acquired a couple of cats and they always seem to get up to mischief at a distance where my current lens cannot capture well so hence the need for a zoom lens.
 
Good lens to start out with that's what I had when I bought my first zoom for my camera. IS is handy and its lightweight to carry round :)
 
I owned the 55-250mm canon lens. Brilliant lens, with IS too :)

Used it for motorsport and it really is a brilliant lens for the money

EDIT: Just read new posts. I haven't heard a bad thing about that lens :)
