I was recently given this 35mm scanner. It came pretty much intact apart from the fact it was in a 'Nikon Coolscan' box and the only manual in there was for the Nikon scanner as well. It also didn't have the SCSI card originally supplied with the scanner, which I assume is still stuck in the previous owner's computer.
I went and bought an 'Adaptec SCSI Connect 2904' PCI card for £5, as I thought I might as well try it and if it didn't work I wouldn't be losing much money. It obviously hasn't, which is why I'm checking here to see if anyone has had experience with this scanner before. I've been on Canon's website and downloaded some drivers for the card and a new version of the scanning program but to no avail. I've also tried ringing them directly, but the guy who answered had no idea what I was on about.
Does anyone know if I need to try and find a specific SCSI card i.e. the same one that came with the scanner originally, or can some tweaking be done to my current card to make it work?
