Not sure if this is the right section, or if it should go into the Windows forum.

I connected a 2gb flash drive into the back of the HH yesterday and was able to access it and map the drive no probs.

Formatted a 250gb to FAT32 and plugged that in, it's 3.5" so has external power, I can see the drive on the HH front page when I go 192.168.1.254 and I can ping it using 192.168.1.253 which is the address for usb devices, but nothing shows under network in Windows so I can't access the files?

Using Windows 7.

Already tried that Say's, 'Windows cannot access'

Doing a diagnostics test thing I get,

The device or resource (192.168.1.253) is not set up to accept connections on port "The File and printer sharing (SMB)

Try formatting it as NTFS and give it a go (aslong as its empty). See if the NAS prefers it as that.
