Can't Access Publi WiFi. Please Help

have a Huawei p20 and recently I've not been able to connect to any public WiFi.

When I try to log into free WiFi I get my phone trying to go to an address called: connectivity check. Hicloud.

This page never loads and I can't access any WiFi network

Why is this happening and how can I fix this?

It happens with every browser I use, chrome or Firefox.

Apparently it's due to Huawei attempting to access connectivitycheck.platform.hicloud.com to test for a captive portal on the public Wi-Fi as well as tracking reasons, which some Wi-Fi services will block hence why it fails.

So does that mean I'm screwed and the only way around it is to get a phone that's not Huawei?
