Every 30mins - 2 hours the internet will stop working on both computers, at the same time I can no longer access the router settings (192.168.2.1), also 2 of the lights go out on the router, one being the internet one.

The only way I have found of resolving it , is to simply pull the power cable out of the router and pop it back in again.

My router is the F5D7230-4 Belkin, the firmware is up to date.

Is it my router or the internet causing the problem?

If you can't even access the router settings, then it's probably the router.
Does it just time out when you try to access the router settings?

Sounds like the router. If your ADSL line went down, you would still be able to access the router.

I had a netgear router that disconnected intermittently. Got a D Link now, no problems.

Ah bummer, only 2 years old to, any recommendations, use it for xbox live, torrents, so easy port stuff etc is a plus.

You running a firewall, i used to have a nightmare trying to get to my router settings when i was using Za, just couldn't get into it half the time because of the stupid thing, switched to Comodo and can access it fine now all the time, im using a NetGear DG834G btw, just a thought anyway.

My D-Link DSL-G624M does this since enabling upnp. I disabled it again, but it's still doing it. Rather annoying :(
