Cant access Steam/Play any games - at all..

Hi

I had this prompt below last night, and i checked my mail, there wasn't one, nor today. Not sure whats caused this as was working ok on Tuesday. Only thing i changed is GFX Drivers (Nvidia 275.33 from 270.xx

Anyone help here? ive contacted steam but no reply

Tried the 'What email message? I don't have it..' or 'Why is this happening' links?

It says

"""What do I do if I do not receive a Steam Guard email when I am prompted for the access code?""""

but the link "request a new access code. is unclickable, it does nothing when clicked on :mad:

Did you try an activate Steam Guard?

Are you sure you signed up to steam with the email adress you are checking?
If you click on What email message, it should say 'sending email to whatever adress' or something.

Sure its not in junk folder?

Check its not in your junk mail folder. That's where mine ended up.

Yes it is my google mail, (it says that in the picture "googlemail.com), and reset my password since, and that came through ok, so emails "do work" but Can't get the access code. I've checked my Junk spam mail several times, cant see anything.

Just installed Steam on my laptop to see it was pc/hardware change related, but i get the the same prompt on my laptop.

Thanks for repies anyway, will work on it..

As said, make sure you're checking the correct e-mail address and that you are checking the junk mail folder as well.

The e-mail you're looking for comes from [email protected], the subject is: "Your Steam account: Access from new computer"

In that e-mail there will be a five letter code which will let you back in.

This is the new Steamguard security feature which prevents people from getting into your account even if the have the password.

Your correct.

I've got it now. However, it wasn't located in my Outlook Googlemail were i collect my mail, but the googlemail.com itself - in the "Spam" box!

Well that's definitely wrong, did you re-install Steam at some point? Take a look in your steam folder to see if the game files are still there.

Steam -> Steamapps -> Common

Yes they are there, I had to install but not "download" them. Like "caching/updating" or something/ took 5 minutes. Alls ok now though.

I'm "OK" with Steam, but will probably go for boxed games in the future...

I've gotten this too before.

Just restart Steam and do it again, it fixed it for me. I was on it for hours trying to fix it until I restarted it.
