Can't add favourites in Linux Mint

From what I understand, to add a favourite in Linux Mint you right-click on the application in the menu and do something from the right-click menu. But I have no right-click menu when I right-click. I do in other applications in Linux and the right-click works, so it's not a mouse issue.

Any ideas - really bugging me this.

Em I'm not sure if this the answer your looking for

but ... hit the infinity button in top left

applications

left click on the app and drag and drop it onto the dock to the left of the screen

job done

it will also show up in the favourites list if you use the mint menu in bottom left

This is assuming your using Mint 12 with Gnome 3.2 desktop
