Can't alter Contrast on new monitor

I've just got myself a 20" Samsung SM-2032BW pebble and for some reason when I use the OSD some items are classed as "Not Available". I've installed the drivers and followed the instructions letter by letter yet for some reason I still get this.

Also, I don't have the ability to select 1280x800 or 1440x900 resolutions in the contol panel. That's not a major problem as I'm running at optimum resolution (1680x1050) but I'd like to have the option of dropping down a res just incase some games need it.

Perhaps its not available when using DVI? I'd understand why they'd think that everyone would want the highest contrast ratio that the panel was capable of, and seeing as it's a digital connection, there's no room for interference necessitating tweaking.
