Can't boot from DVD

I have a DVD that I want to boot from but for some reason the laptop won't boot from it (even though it has a dvd drive). The laptop boots no problems from a CD.

My desktop PC is fine and will boot straight from the DVD.

Any ideas?

(Not sure whether this is hardware or software related so stuck it in the windows forum?) :D

Check with magiciso or something if the dvd actually has a boot record?
I have some bootable DOS dvd's and they work fine, on a desktop though...
