I can't boot into the windows installer using either of my Hard disks, but if I unplug them both, I can boot into the installer I think.

I'm almost certain that the problem is because I have previous installation of Linux on both hard drives(as well as the GRUB boot loader).

When I try and boot with either of the HDDs switched on, it will get the bit where it says setup is inspecting your current hardware, and then the screen will go black but then the GUI never loads up.

What possible situations are there to get round to this? I have tried both WinXp Home and WinXP Pro and both have the same problem.

The Grub Boot loader should make no difference, are the jumper set correctly on the hard drives (one master one slave)? are they on the same IDE / SATA channel?

need some more info about your system before its possible to diagnose the problem i afraid.
