For two years I have been able to get a stable OC of 4GHz on my i7 920 and below spec.
Hyper 880W PSU
Biostar X58 Mobo
6GB OCZ Reaper
Core i7 920 CO was OCd to 4.0GHz
CF5870's not OC'd
Recently, when my rig was at 4.0GHz OC it stopped posting
so I setup everything to default and did a memtest and all came back clear so I set the CPU OC to 3.0GHz and everything boots up fine and works fine at 3.0GHz OC.All 3D benchmarks work fine and result in a simliar score to others for the spec I have.
However, if I increase the OC to near 4.0GHz my posting problems re occur.
Is my PSU on its way out or is it something else?
