have a Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3P

have it on a table with just an e6600 and heatsink installed...trying to boot with a corsair psu...the psu works fine on an amd system....

the mobo wont power up and gives several short beeps which the manual says is a power problem...i dont see how it can be...i have the molex attached to the mobo ..the full atx power connector attached..and the 8pin power for the cpu...

i know the psu is working....

where do i go from here?

no its a power error...long beeps are ram..anyway it should boot without ram....by that i mjean power up the heatsink fan

now it will spin the fan with no cpu but with the cpu installed it wont spin up..faulty cpu?

Not familiar with the DS3P but every motherboard I have ever known has needed CPU, memory and some sort of graphics system to POST.

I will be happy to be told I am incorrect in this case, but will be very surprised.

i know you can test a mobo aslong as you have a cpu in, never needed ram in before, always a good test to make sure it is working before you go screwing things in. can't remember if you need ram though :S

read up on ds3 problems

does your ram require 1.8 volts or more ?

i know for fact that these mobos wont boot up any ram that needs 2.1 v or more

u need ram that supports 1.8 then put in the decent stuff
