Can't click on links all of a sudden

Hi,
A strange problem I have is I cannot click on things like the blue vote button on msnuk, or leave feedback button on ebay plus log in buttons on banks. It has only happened over the last week or so and I have tried system restore but it is still the same. I have tried googling but it throws up a mixed bag, and to be honest I don't know what I am looking for! hotlinks? I guessed at that so it's time to ask some more knowledgeable people than me

Maybe need a javascript update or there's been one recently that messed things up (i know that happened recently with some sites). Do the usual like turning off browser addons one by one.

I have tried uninstalling java and reinstalling an older version. I have norton on PC and avast on laptop. Both are the same! I have uninstalled both and tried but it is the same. I have no add ons enabled in firefox and IE.

mmmm, a strange one this, java applets had been blocked on my billion router? I know I never did it... password change time.
