Hey all, just have an annoying wee issue pop up that I hope someone can help with, I've had a quick google and nothing has come up, so my pc was out fo action for the best part of a week, when I got it working again I had some updates for windows 10, no big deal - but afterwards I seem to have lost the ability to connect to my freenas server - it no longer appears under my network in file explorer?
I can still activate the web UI for the server and can also connect to the plex plugin I have installed but the server doesnt show up under windows file manager

Anyone have a quick fix or know what caused this?

(edit - typing the name of my server into the address bar - so \\freenas - I can access it, its just that it doesnt appear as an option under network, I've selected *pin to quick access* for now - its a minor grievance but one I'd like sorted)

Windows network browser has always been flakey at best, I only access mine via..

\\servername, in a run box.

WINKEY + R, \\servername, tap enter.

Ahh okay - i was just wondering if something got disabled with the big update recently

I just type my server address in my file explorer address and pinned it to start menu quick access as a round about fix and it's all good.

you can do this too..

open a CMD prompt window (or run box)

net use X: \\servername\sharename

This will map it as X drive in Explorer.

to remove it you can..

net use x: /d

or right click, disconnect.

Cool I'l keep note of that for future :)

Any idea on what could have changed during the update to cause it?
