My house mate just bought a pc with Vista Home Premium, which neither of us have ever used.

I have a 16 Gigabit switch, attached to that is my ST585v6.

It's assigned him an IP address, and I can ping other machines on my network, but I can't get it to see the internet.

All seems a bit different from XP, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Cheers...

What happens when he opens IE? Check the settings in IE7 (tools -> internet options -> connections tab).

Yeah, it was added to workgroup IP4 was activated, but apparantly it can't read the DNS settings from the router.

Added those in manually and it seems to work now..

Is there a fix for that, as that kinda defeats the object of getting the DNS entries automatically...
