Can't connect to Live

Just bought myself MW2 for some good old fasioned mp gaming today, but for some obtuse reason my x-box will not connect to Live and i have no idea why.

I'm using a Belkin wireless router, N series.

I've tried all the workarounds, i've opened up all the ports necessary, i've bypassed everything using the DRZ, i've turned the firewall off etc, etc and nothing will work.

It worked a month or so ago when i last played online on my 360, yet today it just will not connect.

Any ideas anyone ? my first thought is new router but then why did it work before but suddenly not anymore when everything else on the network is fine, the PS3 connects fine, the two wii's are fine, the 3 computers and 2 iphones all connect to the internet fine yet the 360 wont get on live.

Have you checked to see if its been banned from live?

are you using wired or wireless???

Can you connect to the marketplace? If he had been banned it would still connect to live but when he starts a game it would disconnet and upon trying to reconnect he'd get a banned message.

I would manually try specifying your IP etc if you haven't done so already. Failing that if you are using wireless try it wired.

I've used both wired and wireless and neither want to work, also set a static ip for it and still nothing.

The only thing i get when i try to connect, is a message comes up saying that i need to download a system update for Live to work, i click to download it and it starts but comes up straight away with a message that it can't download the update and to check my connection.
