I'm just setting up a spare computer and have so far got it working nicely on the internet via my router (I'm actually using it to post right now) but It refuses to connect to the shared folders on my main computer.
It can see the computer and the shared folders but when I try to open anyof them, I get an error message saying I might not have permissions to connect (though I have set it to be accessible to all) and the error essage saying "Not enough server storage to process command"
I have looked up this error and found that it can be solved by changing the registry value: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\lanmanserver\parameters > IRPStackSize
I tried changing it (well, adding it then changing it) on the computer I'm setting up and it didn't help. After more reading it appears you need to make the change the setting on the computer you're trying to connect to. I have tried doing this but I still can't connect to the shared folders.
I can however connect from my main computer to the one I am setting up and copying to and from it with no problems.
I have tried connecting to my main computer with another computer I use for scanning, (which has worked fine in the past) and have had the same problem.
The problem must be something on my main computer but I'm stumped!!!
Anyone have any ideas???
BTW main comp and the one I'm setting up are both using XP. The scanner comp is using Windows 2000.
Firewalls are all switched off.
Any help much appreciated.
