Hi all,

Just had this problem start now. I have been using Windows 8 fine up until now, I have just set up my WHS 2011 server properly and its pretty much finalised. While I was setting it up I mapped all the shares/drives as network drives and they all worked and I could connect to the server through the network drives and/or going into network and going on 'Media-Server' and my shares would appear there.

Now for some reason the other day I booted into win 8 and I could no longer access the mapped network drives or access the server through 'network'. If I try to connect to the server from the network drive I get an error saying that it cannot connect to the network drive as it has been disconnected. Then if I try to connect to the server within network it comes up with an error saying 'cannot connect to the server' and an option to diagnose the error. If I run the diagnostic tool it just says 'troubleshooter could not solve the problem' OWTTE. I have tried rebooting both the server and the client computer. I don't have a problem accessing it on any other computer either. I have also tried disconnecting the network drives and attempting to re map them but when browsing for the share I get the same error as when I try to access it through the network. Both machines can ping each other by IP and Name and oddly the server can see win 8 shares. I have even tried mapping the drives by IP with no luck

I am dual booting with win 7 as I have a couple of apps that won't run on win 8 (cubase for example) and I can access it fine from within win 7.

This is really confusing me?!

What else can I try?

Cheers
