Could you connect wirelessly with the laptop before, or have you never been able to connect?

Can you try connecting wirelessly with a different wireless laptop for testing purposes?

Have you checked the channel number?

Have you got the right security protocol? WEP, WPA etc.

What router have you got?

Is the problem range related? If you move the laptop nearer the router can it connect?

Are you sure you have the wireless key correct? Have you tried changing it to a new one?

i have a bt home hub and i am right next to the router now using a ethernet cable.

yh i have the wireless key right, no i havent changed it.

now its saying im connected but the icon doesn't have a earth next to it.

please help

OK, so it's a BT Home Hub so you'll have a set wireless key, so that won't be it.

Does the BT Home Hub update itself with new software? In which case maybe that has happened and now it can't negotiate properly with your wireless card??

You can sometimes get into the advanced properties of your wireless card, and tweaking some of those might help??
