I have decided to try improving the superhub by turning off the wireless and using it in just Modem Mode. I know the ip to connect to the superhub is now 192.168.100.1, i have set up my wireless router settings (Edimax EW7228APN) as follows:

IP Address: 192.168.2.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.100.1

i havent bothered enabling any security settings yet.

Both my iphone and 360 can see the edimax wireless signal but neither can connect to it, i have tired entering 192.168.2.1 into a web browser to access the edimax settings menu but constanly times out. Have noticed that ipconig in command prompt lists the default gateway as 86.10.53.1, i have also tried this as the default gateway in the edimax settings also with no luck. Am i missing something here as im stumped!?

A quick search suggests that the EW7228APN is a Access Point/Range Extender. If it is and you've switched the Superhub to modem mode you no longer have a router to do any routing. This would also explain why you don't appear to have a functioning DHCP server available.

I think you should just have disabled the wireless on the Superhub (leaving it as wired router) and connected the Edimax to handle the wireless side of things.

Yeah that method has partially worked, i can now get my iphone to connect to the edimax router, but im still unable to get to the router settings via web browser when entering 192.168.2.1, is this because its running through the superhub?

EDIT, just done a complete power down and system restart and all is good now, thanks.

Is just turning off the wireless signal on the superhub just the same as enabling modem mode then, just wondered why they decided to add the modem mode if disabling the wirless signal does the same thing?

Im looking at getting a D-Link DIR615, as there are regard to be one of the best for gaming and cheap as chips, any other suggestion or is the D-lInk ideal?

Now im able to get into the webbrowser settings, the router does actually have a DHCP server option, but its disabled by default.

Am i best enabling this dhcp server on the edimax and then enabling modem mode on the superhub?

I'm fairly sure that the Edimax device you have isn't a router. Does it have a WAN port?

You need to have a router. This can be the Superhub, or a separate device plugging into the Superhub (which is when you'd need to enable modem mode).

Enabling modem mode turns everything off (except for the modem obviously). You just need to disable the wireless side of things, and then connect and configure the Edimax access point to replace that functionality.

Got a D-LINK DIR-615 of eBay for the grand total of £7 now to accompany the SuperHub in modem Mode.

Question about the 'Gateway' value on the D-Link router, what should this be set as?, the IP as the superhub in modem mode 192.168.100.1? And do i ideally want to have my D-Links IP address on the same subnet as the superhub, so 192.168.100.2 for example?

Same subnet.
