Can't connect VGA socket

The VGA port on my Pegasus 670 notebook is very flush with the body, and prevents me from fitting the cable to my display properly. I would like to connect my PC up to a big television (other people use their notebooks on it), but bar using some kind of hammer, it isn't going in. Is there some kind of extender socket I could use, or maybe an alternative output (USB to VGA maybe?)?

I do have an HDMI port, which is obviously superior, but at this stage I'm just trying things out and so wanted to make use of the connectors I already have.

Any thoughts or links?

Sounds like its been pushed back, USB to VGA doesnt exist. The HDMi route can be done but you need a card that can output HDMi, with it beinbg a laptop you are somewhat limited. I cant think of what if any adaptor would work. Sounds like you are snookered tbh.
