upload.ntlworld.com is the server you use to get access to your webspace - GrabIt won't help you out there, you need an FTP client. If it is indeed usenet access that you're after then I think the NTL address is news.cable.ntlworld.com

i put news.cable in that didn't work, my Fire FTP does though with,upload.ntlworld.com

They're different apps for different purposes though - FireFTP's an FTP client whereas Grabit's a news (NNTP) client...

i know the apps are different i was comparing saying the ftp connects, any newsgroup fails at the connection point. Im on Virgin media and they have seriously blocked things.

My point was you can't really compare connecting to a different server with a different app with a different protocol. AFAIK VM aren't blocking Usenet.
