As per title, I can't decide between the two, £2k is max spend on the TV and I'm not even sure I need to be spending that much, 55" is max size.

TV will be hooked up to a 2TB Sky Q box and I'll have access to other 4k material via Netflix and Amazon. Truth is though, 90% of the TV use will be Eastenders etc, probably in SD as The Boss can't even be bothered to find the HD channels.

However, when I do watch a film/sport I want it to be as immersive as it can be. Been a Sony fanboi for years now, never let me down. Brain says OLED though, but can't quite get past spending almost £2k on an LG product, never used the brand before.

Please help me decide!

took the wife to look at a tv for around 1k and came home with a oled b7 as she was so impressed says it all really.

That's one of the things swinging it for me, it's one of the only sets The Boss has seen and said "that one looks alright".

Curve ball. Wandered into Richer sounds today to see a B7 sitting next to a Panasonic TX55. Think I preferred the Panasonic. Both looked very good comparing the same source, but the Panasonic just seemed a bit smoother. Prefer the black frame too. Dilemma.

I was talking about the Panasonic ez952, which I speculated was what HummuH1 had seen, which is 2K not the ez1002 at 4.5K which I think you referred to ?- lets keep in budget

Was exactly that mate, cracking looking set and from what I saw, albeit briefly and from a single 4k source, looked a bit nicer than the LG B7.

At this point and after reading some reviews, I'm tempted to spend an extra £200 or so on the Panasonic.

Shame the C7 isn't dropping to that much. If it did i would buy in and instant. I think I would prefer the black bezel rather than silver but only Curry's seem to be selling the C7.

I'm waiting for RS to confirm if they will match on the C7. Other places do sell the C7, they're just not advertising on websites.

Took the plunge and got a 55" C7 for £1,529. Seems a lot of TV for the price, can't wait to get my hands on it now.

Same, arriving in a few hours. I can't look at my Kuro, guilt ;)

Mines arrived. Delivery woke the other half up at 8.45am when the buzzer went, then emerges from the pit declaring the box is a "monstrosity". All is calm again by 11.30am after a quick test of The Revenant. Phew, close one.

Fired up the iPlayer 4k planet earth 2 test , don't feel so guilty now.
Spent a bit of time trying to figure out if their is a plastic film on the front like there is on the back. Think there is but is there on purpose for anti-glare I believe so won't be trying to take that off!

Likewise, I was handling the thing with kid gloves. I got the SJ8 soundbar with the T8 bracket to mount to the C7, bit heart in mouth as you have to lay the screen on a raised flat cushioned surface to mount it.

It really is a thing of beauty and the image quality is just light years ahead of what I'm used to. Still to play with settings but all 4k HDR stuff has looked awesome with the standard picture mode settings so far.
