my DGM 24" IPS paneled bargin now seems dead :(, so I need another large screen, primary use is gaming, mostly iracing, then general windows and web stuff and some photo/photoshop stuff

I tend to watch movies and tv programs etc on my old dell 20" 1680x1050 :)

gaming wise its mostly iracing btw

choices are hanns g 28"

HP 24" has a ips panel

my main concerns would be the two tn panels, with the viewing angle, with colour consistancy, as some tn panels are really bad :s. i do tend to move abit when i drive in iracing, i think.

I vote for the Hanns G.

All those happy Hanns G owners can't be wrong.

I use mine primarily for games and I love it. The colours won't beat an IPS panel but I was more bothered about response times and ghosting rather than accurate colours and wider viewing angles.

I was worried that it was going to be "cheap and nasty" but I decided to take a chance after reading the comments in that thread (above) and I'm really glad I did. Yes it's cheap but it ain't nasty!

My only disappointment was the lack of 1:1 pixel mapping which means that you get a "stretched" picture when you hook it up to an Xbox 360 or PS3. I would have preferred the black bars at the top and bottom of the picture. Still, if you're not planning to use it with a games console then it's not an issue.
