Can't decide between 2 showers....

Finally getting round to actually sorting my bathroom out once and for all and im stuck on which shower to get...

Im in the market for a good quality mixer shower, my boiler should run one fine and the two different ones i've narrowed it down to are....

Mira Agile Sense ERD+ @ £339

OR

Mira Agile ERD @ £252

In terms of looks as they are both the Agile range they look pretty much identical. The only difference I can see if the Sense ERD+ has a couple of extras. It shows the time and temperature on a little display on the mixer bar and has a slightly bigger shower head (100mm vs 110mm) and bit bigger rainfall head (200mm vs 250mm).

Would you pay the extra for the bigger shower heads and electronic read out or save the money?
 
I looked at the ERD+ but ended up with this Grohe at £248 from Amazon.

The rainfall head is slightly smaller but it's big enough for out bath enclosure and even though it would have been cool to see the water temp really it's a bit pointless because you just make the water as warm as your comfortable with rather than a specific temperature Plus I seen it as something that could fail and be a nusece to replace.
 
Any particular reason you chose the Grohe over the ERD+? I know Grohe are seen as a premium brand too but just curious what made you decide to go for that.
Imo the Mira's look a lot nicer in style however that is ofc down to personal preference.
 
We went for the Mira Pronta ERD+. Couldn't really see the difference between this and the Agile (Seems to use same valve and riser), apart from the head sizes and the Pronta had the larger heads and was much cheaper.

That looks interesting, hadn't considered that.

The only difference apart from the size of the heads I can tell is that the you can't adjust the height of the riser rail on the Pronta but thats not a deal breaker. Will see what prices are like on it as it might be a good middle ground between the 2 im stuck between!
 
I'd go with Grohe as it's a German brand and actually made in Germany. From the looks of it, it's also cheaper than the options you suggested going off the post above.

I have no idea about Mira but my dad has bought their cheap electric showers and they don't seem to last that long however saying that they probably did last many years just seems not that long as time flys by. Think he had 3 over a period of around 15 years.

Where is Mira made and the company founded? I know it's going off stereotypes but the Germans do get it right 9 times out of 10 usually.
 
with the Grohe (and maybe others with 'rainfall') if you want higher pressure shower as supplied by hand unit, can you position it
at a reasonable angle in holder ?
Maybe you have sufficient water pressure to make that a non-issue;
but my experience of rainfalls is, they are often of little use and 'cannot take the skin off of a rice pudding' with them.
 
My Grohe is now 7 years old and still looks and works like new - Only thing I have done is buy a new hose for no particular reason other than it looks new. - We do dry it off after each shower and buff it,

Just from the reviews etc I read about the build quality, the support from Grohe, the fact everything is part numbered and easily replaceable and available if it's required. Plus the guy doing the fitting raved about them.

You did indeed. :) Just with everyone else saying Grohe I was intrigued. I don't actually know which is considered the better company or are they both high quality?

We've just had an Aqualisa Quartz Digital installed and so far I'm really enjoying it. Only used it for about 3-4 days though.

Definitely Hansgrohe. For a start pretty much everything you can buy from them is WRAS certified. No other supplier can make that claim.
