can't decide between the opty 165 and 3800 x2

The extra cache on the opty is the same as an extra 200mhz.
The opty 165 runs at 1.8ghz and the X2 3800 runs at 2.0ghz, so they give out the same performace when at stock.
I would go for the X2 3800+ as these are good clockers and cheaper.

you would need to be running a decent mobo probably a dfi to get the decent clocks from the opty 165 because it only has a x9 multi compared to the 3800x2's x10.
