Can’t decide on a screen and need some advise

So after deciding on a screen and GPU upgrade and basically settling in my head on a 1440p and a 6800, I started looking around

was looking at a dell s3220dgf as I can get one for 330quid with a discount code but had concerns that 32” 1440 pixel density wouldnt be much more of an an improvement than my current 24” 1080p especially as I only sit half a meter from the screen

Then I got it into my head that I want an ultra wide which means getting a 6800xt as and when I can get one and now I’m really struggling with screen choice

Did some research and the acer nitro xv340ck came out well in one of the few reviews I could find but seems to get no real mention on the forums

or an aw3420dw which has a large thread in here but is significantly more expensive and whilst it seems to works with free sync from what I can read, however seems like it might be better paired with a 3080 which I wasn’t really keen on due to the 10gb memory and the fact I’d kinda like this upgrade to last me a few years

So am I missing some options here or anyone got anything to add in terms of the short list above

TLDR

Want a new screen and GPU and am basically riddled with indecision and have no idea what to get

I prefer to spend more on a monitor then a GPU as a monitor normally lasts me through multi GPU upgrades and it also the monitor screen that your staring at for hours per day
Plus a game can only look as good as the monitor can make it look ;)

But of cause there 2 sides to this as you don't want a £1000+ 4k monitor being ran by a 10 year old low end GPU :D

The next jump up from 27" 1440p for me would be to;

34" 3440 x 1440

and preferably to:

38" 3840 x 1600

Everything on the market at present is sub par in some way shape or form, either poor HDR, lack of USB-C and/or HDMI 2.1, KVM switch etc. If you can make do for a while longer, I'd see what is being announced in a couple of weeks time at CES, otherwise I'd cheap out a bit on a Iiyama 34" 3440 x 1440. If you want something for gaming on a single system then it's not so much of an issue but a really decent monitor that's good for gaming and productivity between two systems such as also dropping a laptop into the equation then that doesn't really exist yet unless CES reveals something.

I’m a firm believer in buy cheap buy twice hence probably veering towards the AW despite it being twice of the price of the acer in the vain hope that dells QC means it’ll be a decent panel the fact I’m currently using a r9 290 well ignore

I get what your saying and I do struggle with the fact that of the untolds of screens out there they’ve all got problems of some description - fail to see in this age why there’s not a do it all screen on the market but hey ho

I remember having this issue when I bought a new tv and to be fair after some concerns about banding and burn in my 65” b7 has been faultless

my issue with waiting is that it’s all I seem to have done for the last 5 years since my last major build with a 5820k thought I’d wait for the then next gen cards to be released but never bothered if I leave it any longer I’ll be doing another new build...
