Can't decide on car

I service mine every 5k miles, I bought the car with 50k on the clock I've put 30k on it, it's had new headlight washer jets (luckily I managed to get them replaced under warranty as Kia wanted £600 to replace them), reversing camera failed, front wishbones, rear trailing bushes, rear lower arm bushes, rear shocks, hand brake cables, the cabin filter assembly shattered and had to be replaced, coil packs and ignition condenser, front calipers seized, issues with headlights (wiring), boost solenoid.failed 3 times, diverter valve split so I replaced with an aftermarket one, hose clips rotted away.
was the issue partly that their 7 warranty and garages 6/12 months wasn't as extensive as you'd hoped.
Couple of neighbouirs wives have kia sportages ... they lead a hard life with short distance school/activity runs, not driven very sympathetically over local potholed roads.

Although zf might be the rolls royce for auto boixes have you test driven one to convince yourself that for driving and parking manouvers you like it.

Also, ,although I got an Audib9 avant, the choice of finding a dealer within a reasonable distance who had a manual boxxed bmw/audi/merc/vag estate I wanted was the
challenge, took about 4months , near Cambridge (more choice of EV's !) - you may find local choice of what you want is not great.
if you want an audi zf/tiptronic ~£20K isn't you choice limited to likes of 3.0/tdi avant https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202601229349038

WIth the Kia nothing like that, they just didn't do what they agreed to at point of sale, paint touch ups and other bits. There was an issue with the handbrake when I picked it up, and then the front bumper headlight washers jammed open, looking through the not history these were a pre-existing fault, along with the handbrake. And Kia was doing the MOT 's for the previous owner. They then had the car for 3 months doing the paint touch ups. Charging me for parts they didn't fit etc etc.

The Audi I've driven my mates A7, and it's lovely exactly what I want in terms of driving, zf box is nice as well. Problem is I cant help but feel going that route will ruin me at some point in the near future

So looking around think I've settled on BMW 4 series gran coupe, thinking the 435d would be ideal, but concerned about reliability, I'm sure as I service cars every 6k miles anyway that reliability shouldn't be too bad, but can't find any concrete information on whether they are or not or common faults to look out for some say they are reliable and others say they aren't.

still looking at the Lexus is as the more sensible choice but looking at reviews on YouTube they do seem to have a fair bit of road noise

That engine isn't known to have any major issues really, especially if you're planning on servicing that regularly.

My 2015 428i petrol has been almost faultless after a couple of months short of five years. I’ve serviced it every 12 months rather than relying on the idrive telling me when. A single thing has gone wrong, a headlight level sensor which was £89! @dessimpson has a 435d 4 series coupe and seems to like it so much he’s considering selling his second car. The 4 series is a great mile muncher too, quite, comfortable and smooth.

Did you end getting the 435D GC in the end then? Or did something reliability related put you off, or sky high diesel prices?
