Hopefully going to order a new monitor next week and I'm looking for a widescreen 1080p monitor. Not too fussed when it comes to the resolution but I've always preferred larger aspect ratio.

I've been looking at the two monitors below but can't decide between the two of them.

YOUR BASKET
1 x LG 29UM67 29" FREESYNC Gaming Super-Wide Widescreen LED Monitor - Black £279.95
1 x LG 29UB55-P 29" WideScreen Super-Wide LED Monitor £239.99
Total : £534.94 (includes shipping : £12.50 Ex.VAT).

I'm running AMD cards just now that aren't Freesync compatible but I will be upgrading in the future but I don't know whether it'll be red or green yet. I know one of the monitors is Freesync enabled but with it being more expensive, is it a better monitor?

Unless someone as has a better monitor they could recommend and I'd like to keep the price sub-£300.

Cheers!

Freesync one is better overall, higher refresh rate thus less input lag, slightly better motion clarity, more OSD features like the black stabiliser etc.

Just in case you don't know but:

- freesync range is only 48-75hz
- the monitor is the same height as a 23" 16.9 monitor
- chances are you will get one with sever bleed or/adn IPS glow
- LG CS is crap

I would hold of for the next month though as I'm sure we will see something announced/released that is just as good or better.

Superwide does sacrifice a lot of height, which personally I find to be a bit annoying when browsing/coding ect as you're constantly scrolling. Go check some out at a shop first.

Out of those two I would go for the Freesync one as well, as there is a decent chance you will stick with AMD and if not its still the better monitor.

Personally I would go for two 1080p displays as its a more flexible setup.
