Hi chaps i cant decide between these 2 Am1 boards below anyone got any of these 2 boards that can comment if they had any problems or if you are just happy with the board of your choice.

Asus AM1I-A

MSI AM1I

I already have the Asrock AM1H-ITX but i want to build another for Htpc Downloader Duties but will use a pico psu to save on watts used.

Whats wrong with another Asrock board or the Asrock AM1B-itx

I use the AM11B-ItX with a 65w pico psu 2x2 TB hdds 1x 120 gb ssd and Athlon 5350 with 8 GB 1600 memory as my HTPC
Bonus is the Asrock boards have 4x Sata connectors

I forgot about the AM11B-ItX that could be an option as well, which model power brick do you use for your pico and what memory modules ?

I use the AM1B-itx in my server. Don't use a pico PSU but I bought 8GB of Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz RAM off a well known auction site for 30-odd quid. Works great.

I have the msi with a 5350 and a pico psu in a case smaller than a console. I have had no issues with the board at all since setup. Not sure if thats any benefit to you or not. I dont know much about the asus board to compare features.

No issues with it at all. The case i bought actually included the dc-dc converter and external power brick. Its a akasa crypto case i think ocuk still sell it. The power brick i have is 80w.
The msi board doesnt allow you to overclock, well it does but only an extra 0.05ghz. I mainly use the system for tv and movies and as a sky player. Its runs win8.1 perfectly fine. I use xbmc/kodi as well.

Thanks i have a case already just need a power brick and the board now.

The problem with power bricks these days is it's hard to find one that isn't cheap Chinese tat, for a server that will (potentially) be always on I'd like some peace of mind from a quality PSU that isn't going to burn my house down when I'm not there.

They can put CE mark on these cheap power bricks but they get away with it when challenged by saying it stands for "China Export" and not the actual CE standard.
