Cant decide...

Tough. The Acer has a better freesync range of 30-75hz - that would be the clincher for me. I believe it's 48-75 on the LG, which verges on pointless.

Tough decision sometimes, isn't it? :)

At times, I don't feel that I'm any closer to selecting one. :/

I'm also considering the LG one you linked.

With regard to the Acer monitor, as far as I know, should you ever go Nvidia and try to go past 62hz it can result in frame skipping. I see that you have an AMD card, but I thought it worth pointing out in case you change cards one day. Out of interest, the AMD 6000 series aren't supported where freesync is concerned, are they?

I think it's the same panel so not much difference, I'm using the Acer xr34 and it's been great

The LG uses a newer panel with a steeper 1900R (vs. 3800R) curve. The same panel the upcoming XR342CK should be using. But they're both excellent monitors. :)

Thanks for that. Ive just watched this youtube review that says he used an NVidia card and clocked it to 85hz...

Who knows :)

He didn't check for frame skipping. So it wasn't actually running at a true 85Hz at all or anywhere close for that matter. TFT Central's review confirms my findings as well as does any user who is actually sensitive to or knows how to check for skipped frames.

Happy to report I'm over the moon with it!!! I did initially think it sticks out a bit far (my desk is backed up to the wall) but after an hour of doom I can definitely say the immersion is fantastic and Ill probably leave it as it is (I had considered wall mounting it.)
