yeh downloaded a game and had to convert it a few times through all that i ended up with the iso file on my desktop when i try to delete a window opens saying:

This sile is being used in system.
Please close the file a try again.

I can't end the system process so what can do?

I'm runnin Wndows 7 by the way.

Have you tried something like MoveOnBoot? It will flag files to be deleted when the PC is next rebooted. Not sure if this works in Win7 mind.

Another vote for reboot here, had this with my W7 laptop, tried to delete an avi and the file would disappear but an F5 would bring it back, rebooted and the file was gone so it looked like W7 had got it's file allocation knickers in a twist.

RemoveOnReboot for me! Adds the option to your right click menu. Right click the file, select Remove on Reboot.. Reboot!

I'm still sticking with un-mount the image. Reading his first post it more or less says he mounted it. The program I use for this keeps the image mounted untill i un-mount it. Even after reboots. Not sure if force deleting it is the way to go but I know if I mount an image from my external HD and unplug the external before un-mounting the file, it usually makes my PC lock-up.

Just un-mount it !! That is what's using the file, just like you told it to.
