Can't delete files in WHS 2011

I have an HP Microserver that is running WHS 2011.

I had two files unrarring at the same time and WinRAR crashed. I now am unable to delete those files. I have tried using the command line with administrator access and it just says access denied.

I even tried downloading a programme called "Unlocker" which every thread online seemed to end up recommending. Still no luck.

Any ideas from anyone else?

Managed to get to the bottom of this but the answer presents more problems.

I have a drive on the server mounted as E:

For some reason it keeps disappearing. If I reboot it reappears without fail. I have run various diagnostics on it and they all give it a clean bill of health. It makes me think the issue is elsewhere.
