hi , im looking for some help .i have an old OCUk titan galioth build and it seems the overclock isnt running anymore.i know i need to get into the bios and reuse the ocuk profile which should be on there, but i cant seem to enter the bios on start up.

its a gigabyte ex58udr 3 mobo.im trying pressing delete as soon as i start the computer but its not working.Ive already tried a different keybord and that didnt work and also turning off at mains for 15 minutes and that didnt work .

Give your PC a hug, those are symptoms of love deprevation...

erm, try updating bios? Through @BIOS utility, can get it from giga site, might solve the issues... Also instead of holding down Delete keep pressing it

Is it freezing when you try to enter the BIOS or is it just booting straight to windows?

Does the motherboard have duel BIOS? If so try the other one.

Something else to try would be to remove the SATA cable from the HDD, then try to boot, this should stop it booting to windows and hold it on the BIOS. (I think)

Have you tried doing a CMOS reset, this will keep the overclock saved profile and might allow you to get into the BIOS and reload the profile.

Edit- you sig is too big, max 4 lines of standard text ;)

its going straight to windows.
yes the mobo is duel bios.

how do i use the other bios?

how do i edit signature? i put that on yrs ago.

Pop into your user CP on the top left of your screen and you can edit your profile :)

The dual BIOS you can't really swop between the 2 really, I thing this is done in the back ground if the board it will automatically go to the the other BIOS.

But try a CMOS reset.

ok thanks . done the signature .yes will try the cmos reset and the second bios. will the ocuk profile be on the secong bios?

The Profile will be saved to the BIOS memory, the 2nd BIOS I think is done by the board automatically.

ok then . how about the disconnect the HDD suggestion? also how long should i remove the battery for during cmos reset?

Easiest is to to link the CLR CMOS jumper, check the manual for location.

It might be worth a try removing the HDD.

I though that each BIOS was a separate independent unit. On my Z77 board there is a small side switch that has to be manually changed. Also each one is independent of the other, I found on mine that when I update one the other is unaffected, I have one on version F17 and the other on what the Motherboard shipped with, F11 I believe. This may be different on older boards.

On my UD5 this was done automatically.

DualBIOS™ - Patented Dual Hardware BIOS Protection
DualBIOS™ is a GIGABYTE patented technology that automatically recovers BIOS data when main BIOS has crashed or failed. Featuring 2 physical BIOS ROMs integrated onboard, GIGABYTE DualBIOS™ allows quick and seamless recovery from BIOS damage or failure due to viruses or improper BIOS updating.

Ah didn't know it could do that, I'm just going from experience from what I have learnt playing around with my board.

I would still be worth checking if it has a switch and trying it just for the 5 minuets it will take.

Just checked the manual, been a while since I had my board (X58 UD5) and there is no switch to change the BIOS over.

cmos reset worked .found the ocuk profile and am running it now. computer is acting a bit strange though now. windows wont update and cant seem to download prima95 to test it.

thanks for help everyone .
