Got a 7.5 rar file on a 30Gb ipod, it wont extract onto my computer because C: only has around 5Gb free (trying to put it on E: which has 13Gb free). Assume using C: as buffer. Any ways around without using another computer?

Extract some onto C:, transfer it to E, then extract the rest? Thats if there's actually multiple files within the RAR?

How do you have a 7.5 GiB file on an iPod, a device whose file system is either Fat32 or HFS+? You're not on a Mac so you must be using Fat32, a file system that doesn't allow single files that exceed 2 GiB.

Its 4gig for fat32, so as billy says would assume it would be related to this.

changed the temp folder (for win rar) to ipod and another hard drive and it still says there isnt enough space :(

install 7zip

tell it to choose the temp folder that you want, and press F9 to get the 2 panel view, now drag from one panel to the other

5gb though, you should seriously clean up!

Cheers, ill give it a go. Yeah i know - seriousily running out of space, havent got all my drives in as i didnt realise DS3 only has 1 IDE port. Need to get some new SATA drives!

EDIT - Cheers, 7zip sorted it :)
